Where in the World Challenge: Romania

And last, but not least, drum-roll please.......#25 ROMANIA: Of course, being a SyFy geek & lover of all fantastical creatures & such, I immediately think of Transylvania & Dracula!

My favorite Dracula was played by Gerard Butler in "Dracula 2000", can you say YUM!?! I also have to mention Gary Oldman's take in Bram Stoker's "Dracula", otherwise I won't hear the end of it from my friend who swears he's the best, lets just call him 'vintage sexy'! So I've put pictures of both up for your viewing pleasure. (I do not own these pictures I found them in a Google search)

All this to say... "I did vampire nails" Whoohoo!

And this marks the end of our journey around the world. I hope you have enjoyed my portrayal of these 25 Countries, I sure had fun creating them. Bring on the next challenge!-Adieu

Pale Pink Daisy

Click flower for link to source

My inspiration, for this delicate spring design, is this pale pink daisy I found. I used one coat of Wet N Wild Sugar Coat & one coat of e.l.f. Fairy Dust. As usual, acrylic paints were used to do the detail. It's raining out today, but there's something about a pretty spring floral that brightens up the day!

And Spring arose on the garden fair,

Like the Spirit of Love felt everywhere;
And each flower and herb on Earth's dark breast
rose from the dreams of its wintry rest.
~Percy Bysshe Shelley, "The Sensitive Plant"

I couldn't pick my favorite picture, so I've added all of them, Enjoy!

Where in the World Challenge: France

#14 France: Ooo lala, I've been waiting for this, there are so many beautiful & romantic things about France that make you close your eyes, tilt your head & sigh. Paris was the last stop my husband & I had on our 2 week honeymoon in 2007 & it was just as lovely as I thought it would be. The food, the wine, the architecture all contributed in creating a sort of romantic nostalgia I'll never forget.

I used one coat of Zoya Pandora, then did the newspaper effect on all my nails. I created the details of the Eiffel Tower & script "Je t'aime" on my thumb & ring finger using acrylic paint. I used an aging film on all the photo's to give it that nostalgic look.

Delicate Feathers

Feeling in a very feminine & delicate mood today, I thought I'd wear some nude tones. I usually go for darker colors, but today, everything pointed to try something soft & airy. The day is beautiful & sunny, with a crisp breeze. I'm having a great hair day, so good that the gusty winds are making me feel like I'm in a photo shoot. I'm wearing my favorite dress pants that compliment my booty & my prescription sunglasses just came in & look fabulous! So I picked out a lovely nude from Sephora by OPI called Dear Diary & then painted some random white feathers on each of my nails to give them a little something extra. I hope y'all are enjoying your day as well, until next time!

Where in the World Challenge: UK

#9 UK: When I think of England I think of Big Ben, double decker buses & tea time! There is something nostalgic about a teacup that makes you think of dressing up as a little girl, playing with your sisters/friends/stuffed animals & having a tea party that makes you just smile. I've done a mani before based on a cute little tea cup I found with roses on it, so I wanted to do something just a tad different this time. I found a picture on DeviantArt for inspiration & just went with it. I used Orly Nite Owl as my base color & used acrylic paint for the little teacup on my ring fingers. Please bare with the terribly short nubbies, I snagged my pinky really badly the snag was super low, so I cut all my nails really short so it's not too noticeable. Anyhow, this color is such a pretty neutral, it makes even the shortest nails look elegant, I'm very happy with the result.

Here it is before the design, see how tiny my pinky nail is, lol~!

Steven Tyler nails, because I must!

I have long adored Aerosmith, Steven Tyler is a rock GOD! Theirs was the first cassette tape, yes I said cassette tape, that I purchased with my own money. They were also the first non-christian music that I ever really listened to, & I had to hide the tape from my parents cause it wasn't allowed, lol, love you Dad! Favorite song: Hole in my Soul. I first saw this design done by Kelsie & she got inspired by both Steven & another lovely lady that I follow Sammy, you can see both their interpretations of the now iconic nails on the links I have provided. Here is my take:

LDTTWC, day 7: You're timeless to me!

I had several ideas for this day as there are so many classic & timeless styles. Some of my favorite timeless looks include: Pencil skirts, pumps, trench coats & LBD's. So when thinking of these things & what I can translate on my nails LBD is out of the picture because that would basically be a plain black nail, I tried to think of how exactly I could a translate a pencil skirt & pumps into a design, hmmm...maybe not. So, the decision was the trench coat. So I'm Googling trench coats to get inspiration & found out they were invented by Burberry, I'm fairly new to fashion so don't laugh that I didn't know that. But then it hit me, I haven't gotten to do a Burberry Tartan design yet & I've wanted to & it's just beginning fall season so it's perfect. The Burberry company has been around since 1856 & the fact that their signature trench coats & tartan design are still popular today speaks volumes for their style genius.

I used ELF desert haze for my base & then used a white polish from sally hansen to do the white criss cross pattern. After that dried a little I used black & red acrylic paints for the pattern detail.

LDTTWC day 3: I remember when...

Day 3 is here of the Time Warp Challenge created by Lindsey. The theme is remembering a historic event either personal or well known.

I didn't have much time so I was trying to think of a subtle & elegant design that I could get away with wearing to work & that also would portray an important historic event cause I wasn't going to have time to clean it off & put a more neutral design on for work. My idea was a Cross. Now the cross has many meanings for different people & cultures, but as a Christian the cross is associated with a very big part of history in the death of Jesus. Now even if you are not super religious you have to agree that the historical event of Jesus dying on the cross has touched the lives many worldwide. Whether you are Christian or not, hearing the story of a man willing to give up his life to save others is something to be admired & remembered.

I used a peachy nail polish for my base color, I can't remember the name because I forgot to check before I left the house, but it's really pretty & I just have a tiny little sample bottle that is getting low because I like it so much. Anyways, & I used black acrylic paint for the little crosses on my ring finger & thumb.
