I saw these flowers done by Chalkboard Nails & she had gotten the inspiration from mrCandiipants a while back & have been itchin' to try them out. Summer is here & now seems the perfect time for a bright floral nail design.
My base is Butter London Tea with the Queen & the flower is various acrylic paint swipes. Since my nails are super short (cause my Hubby had me working like a day laborer Saturday & I broke a bunch of'em) I could only fit one flower on each little nubbin :-)

Where in the World Challenge: Brazil
#24 BRAZIL: Oh I have been waiting for this one! For those of you who do not know I will share a little of my history with this Country. My parents are very American, they both come for Minneapolis, MN, but in their 20's they starting doing volunteer work abroad. I was born in Italy & at the age of 5 moved to Brazil. In total I've spent about 15-16 years in Brazil, I refer to it as my hometown as it is a huge part of who I am today. The fact that I was not born there, do not have Brazilian parents, do not have a passport or even a "green card" in Brazil is not the point, I am & will always be part American & part Brazilian!
For today I designed, to the best of my abilities, my interpretation of the love I have for this country...my Brazilian heartbeat!
Where in the World Challenge: Madagascar
#23 Madagascar: There's only one thing that pops into my head when I hear the word "Madagascar".....PENGUINS!!! Am I right? The fact that in real life penguins do not exist in Madagascar is beside the point, these characters have become synonymous with Madagascar non the less.
So here are my little penguin nails:

Gosh holographic "Take Two"
So, I while ago I had finally gotten my hands on a bottle of Gosh Holographic & I was pretty disappointed. I think that I had seen so many high reviews that I was expecting "holotopia", I found it a bit streaky & it bubbled when I put a topcoat on & it chipped very quickly. But I was determined to give it another go & this time I was quite satisfied. A couple of things I did differently: 1. I didn't put on a base coat, 2. I applied thinner coats, 3. I didn't use a fast drying top coat. I think my biggest problem last time was the application of a fast drying top coat that caused the polish to constrain & form wrinkles & bubbles. Maybe also, the last time I tried this polish was during the winter & for some reason the color looked dull & didn't compliment my skin tone, this time I'm putting it on in the summer & the polish looks quite amazing in fact, it's gotta be the lovely summer sun effect!
I took inspiration from a picture I found on Pinterest, here's the source, her's is black with silver dots so I just reversed it.
